Dr. Cameron Bearder is an Upper Cervical Chiropractor residing and practicing in Charlotte, North Carolina, at Keystone Upper Cervical Spine Clinic. Keystone was established in 2018, and has become one of only a handful of practices in the country to combine both Upper Cervical and Functional Neurology approaches. He is a candidate for triple fellowship status in Vestibular Rehabilitation, Brain Injury Rehab, and Functional Neurology. Within the Upper Cervical world, he’s completed coursework in Blair, Knee Chest, Atlas Orthogonal, Orthospinology, and NUCCA. Dr. Bearder is currently in the fourth cohort of candidacy for the Diplomate in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures.

Stan Pierce, DC

Dr. Stan Pierce Jr. is a 4th generation Upper Cervical chiropractor. He graduated from Life University in 1999 and has been in private practice for 25 years, practicing in Florida as well as in Dubai Healthcare City, treating patients flying in from over 38 countries.

He was an original board member of the ICA’s Upper Cervical Council and has been recognized by the Council as the 2019 Impact Chiropractor of the Year, 2020 Innate Clinics of the Year, and 2021 Chiropractor of the Year. Sherman College also recognized Dr. Pierce as Chiropractor of the Year in 2020, and he has been recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs in Florida in 2021, and by the NFL Alumni Association in 2022.

He has taught students, interns and doctors for 25 years, and has been a collegiate instructor for 12 years at 3 chiropractic colleges. He has presented to the upper cervical clubs at Parker, Sherman, Palmer Florida, Life West, and Life University, and has presented to the entire student body at Life University as well as twice to the student body at Life West and Sherman. Dr. Pierce has been running upper cervical training programs since 2001, has taught over 25 week-long Bootcamps, and has run annual technique conferences for 22 years. He has given presentations on upper cervical chiropractic in Mexico, England, Costa Rica, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Morocco, and Dubai. He has presented many times at both medical and non-medical CME/CEU courses and has presented on stage at large conferences to audiences as big as 25,000 people at a time.

Dr. Pierce’s research background includes: – 2 research studies presented at ACC-RAC in 2012 – presented research studies and data collection systems at IRAPS in 2018 and 2019 – published 3 articles in the Orthopedic and Rheumatology Open Access Journal in 2021/2022 – published in the American Journal of Biomedical Science & Research in 2023 – was brought on as a peer reviewer to the Journal of Theranostics and Pharmocology in 2023 – currently has 2 more studies in the final edits for submission for peer review Dr. Pierce is the discoverer of the Axial X-ray, Sagittal Axial Angle, Head Height Angle, and is an inventor of the patented Integrity Genesis 3-axis percussion adjusting instrument of which he has donated to both Sherman and to Life University. He attended every one of the UC Evolution conferences and UC Fusion conferences, has attended UC Innovation conferences as well as other technique seminars, and he routinely invites presenters from other upper cervical techniques to speak at his conferences. Dr. Pierce was an investor in the technique-neutral Upper Cervical Health Centers franchise in 2007, recently helped to launch a technology-based national chiropractic franchise called EPIC Clinics, and is the founder and head of the EPIC technique with headquarters in beautiful Clearwater, Florida.

He lives and breathes chiropractic and is constantly innovating for the future.

Gordon Elder, DC, DCCJP, FICPA

Dr. Elder’s first chiropractic experience was at the age of 10 at the hands of Weldon Muncy, DC, Dr. Blair’s co-developer of the Blair Chiropractic Technique™. It wasn’t until many years later that he decided to pursue a career as a Blair Chiropractor after he saw the changes the Blair technique made in his wife, who went from being a semi-invalid to a group exercise instructor and personal trainer.

Dr. Elder learned what the Atlas was by attending Blair seminars even before he got to chiropractic college. The doctors he considers his mentors are: Weldon Muncy, D.C.- Dr. Blair’s co-developer and instructional successor, Fred Harkins, D.C.- who learned the technique from Dr. Blair personally, David Topping, D.C.- Dr. Muncy’s chosen instructional successor, and E.A. Addington D.C.- Dr. Blair’s last student and clinical successor.

Dr. Elder graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College, Los Angeles in December 1999 and has been a full member of the Blair Society ever since. He has been an Advanced Instructor since 2013 and has since helped the Society develop a structured technique certification program. In 2017 Dr. Elder closed his Southern California practice and moved his family to Lubbock, Texas to take over the original Blair Chiropractic Clinic established by Dr. Blair in 1949. He completed the ICAs Diplomate in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures (DCCJP) program in the fall of 2022.

Dr. Elder served as the President of the Blair Society in 2020 and currently serves as the Society’s Vice President. He is also currently on the board of the ICA’s Council on Upper Cervical Care and serves as its Research Committee Chair.

He has one wife, 4 adult children, and a yappy dog.

Jonathan Chung, DC

Dr. Jonathan Chung is an upper cervical chiropractor and owner of Keystone Chiropractic and Neuroplasticity based out of West Palm Beach, Florida. He graduated from Life University in 2010 and is an active member of the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association He is board certified in chiropractic neurology and has specialty training in traumatic brain injury and concussion rehabilitation. Dr. Chung has been published in peer-reviewed journals and is a neurology instructor for the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies in Clinical Neuroscience. His clinical interests are in traumatic brain injury, vestibular disorders, and autonomic nervous system disorders.

Jeffrey Scholten, DC, FCCJP, FICA

In private practice in Calgary, Alberta, Canada since 2001, Dr. Scholten is the clinic director and owner of the Vital Posture Clinic. Dr. Scholten is a Board-Certified Diplomate in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures and is currently the only Canadian to hold the distinction of being a Fellow in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures. He teaches Diagnosis and Management of Spinal Disorders at Life Chiropractic College West. Dr. Scholten is past-President of the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (NUCCA), and the past-President and past-Board Chair of the International Chiropractic Association’s Council on Upper Cervical Care where he currently serves as Chair of Credentialing Committee. He also serves on the board of directors of the International Chiropractors Association, the Upper Cervical Research Foundation (UCRF), and the Ralph R. Gregory Memorial Foundation (Canada).

In 2006, Dr. Scholten co-founded one of the chiropractic profession’s first Practice Based Research Networks (PBRN). Dr. Scholten was awarded a public research grant in 2012 to study the information acquired in the PBRN by the Canadian CAM Research Fund. In 2012, he was awarded a Certificate of Merit in Clinical Research from NUCCA. He was selected as the inaugural Upper Cervical Chiropractor of the Year in 2015 by the ICA-CUCC. In 2022, the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards (FCLB) presented Dr. Scholten with the inaugural Boghosian Visionary Award in recognition of his contributions to Ethics and Patient-Centered Care within the profession. In 2023, Dr. Scholten was inducted as a Fellow of the International Chiropractors Association (FICA); this is an honorary designation granted to individuals from the membership who have distinguished themselves through service and dedication to chiropractic and to the International Chiropractors Association. Also in 2023, Dr. Scholten received the Robert Brooks Impact Award from the International Chiropractors Association’s Council on Upper Cervical Care (ICA-CUCC); this award is given in recognition of contributions made on the progress and development of upper cervical chiropractic.

Current and recent research includes CBCT technology in chiropractic clinical applications, TMD and dental integration, cervicogenic dizziness practice based research, posture practice based research, and intracranial pressure and migraine headaches.

Frank Scali, MD, DC

Dr. Frank Scali is a distinguished Associate Professor of Medical Education specializing in Anatomy at the California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM). With a diverse background, Dr. Scali has established himself as a leader in his field.

He has published over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and contributed numerous illustrations to key medical textbooks and journals. His research focuses on translational anatomy, particularly the myodural bridge and the alar fascia, crucial in understanding the human body’s function and pathology. Dr. Scali’s groundbreaking work on the myodural bridge has shed light on its significant role in dural tension and cerebrospinal fluid dynamics, influencing various clinical practices and treatments.

Dr. Scali’s innovative work at CUSM includes developing a virtual-hybrid anatomy/surgical lab and a comprehensive donor library of plastinated specimens. He is actively involved in professional service as a peer reviewer for several prestigious journals and an editorial board member for Medicine. His contributions have earned him multiple awards and memberships in esteemed organizations

Dr. Scali’s research and illustrations have significantly enhanced medical knowledge and education. His work continues to inspire and shape the future of medical training and research, cementing his reputation as a leading figure in his field.

Robert Kessinger, DC

Dr. Kessinger is a Board-Certified Chiropractic Internist and Board Certified in Clinical Nutrition. He graduated Logan College of Chiropractic in 1988. He is an instructor in the ACA’s Chiropractic Internist Board Certification program and Clinical Neurology with the ICA’s Upper Cervical Board Certification program. Dr. Kessinger is a frequent guest speaker at various conferences, has been published numerous times in various journals. He is the 2022 recipient of “Professional of the Year” awarded by the ACA Nutrition Board and 2022 recipient of “Upper Cervical Doctor of the Year” Awarded by the ICA’s Upper Cervical Council. He was recently awarded the 2023 Missouri Chiropractor of the Year.

Dr. Kessinger maintains a Chiropractic Internist practice in Rolla, Missouri.

Jack Carleton, MD

Jack Carleton, MD, MSc, FACEP, is a skilled primary care physician serving the community of Newburgh, New York. Dr. Carleton proudly leads the team at Integrated Medical Healthcare Services, PLLC, providing comprehensive integrated medical care for patients’ complete health and wellness.

After completing his undergraduate degree at Marietta College in Ohio, Dr. Carleton earned his Master of Science Degree and Doctor of Medicine Degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus. He completed his rotating internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.

He then spent seven years doing cancer and neurological research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He entered the field of emergency medicine by establishing the department of emergency medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida. In 1977, he moved to New York and started the first Department of Emergency Medicine in Orange County at the previous Horton Memorial Hospital in Middletown, New York.

Throughout his extensive career spanning across five decades, Dr. Carleton has gained valuable experience in the field of medicine, including internal medicine and emergency care. His areas of interest include emergency medicine, arthritis, headaches, diabetes, chronic pain, neurological diseases, cancer, and allergies, to name a few.

Scott Rosa, DC, FCCJP

Dr. Scott Rosa is a highly experienced upper cervical Chiropractic practitioner with 30 years of private practice in New York. He holds a Palmer Graduate degree, is a Board Certified Atlas Orthogonist, and has a Masters Certification in Whiplash and Brain Traumatology. Dr. Rosa is the Vice President of the R.W. Sweat Research Foundation and Chairman of the Research Studies Group.

His contributions include co-authoring research articles on cervical complications and Cerebellar Tonsilar Ectopia (CTE) in whiplash patients. Dr. Rosa is the president of the Trauma Imaging Foundation and has developed and patented “Image Guided Atlas Treatment” (IGAT™) using Dynamic Upright MRI for correction of misalignments. He has collaborated with Dr. Raymond Damadian and FONAR corp. in advancing dynamic imaging procedures.

Recognized as the Upper Cervical Research Chiropractor of the Year by the ICA, Dr. Rosa has presented globally on observations at the cranio-cervical junction. He is an Honorary Fellow in the “Diplomate in Cranio-Cervical Junction Procedures” program and teaches imaging methods for advanced diagnosis and treatment. His current research focuses on neuro-degenerative brain diseases, concussion, CTE, altered CSF flow dynamics, and their correlation with cranio-cervical junction derangements. Dr. Rosa has co-authored and contributed to various publications and medical radiology texts.

Sandlin Lowe, MD

Dr. Sandlin Lowe is a Neuropsychiatrist and an expert in Translational Clinical Neuroscience and Therapeutics. He has special interests in traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), post-concussion syndromes, cognitive impairment, dementias, Alzheimer’s disease, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, major depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders including autism spectrum disorders.

Dr. Lowe’s innovative approaches provide new insights into the core pathology of many neuropsychiatric disorders, including the search for the etiologies and treatment of Thalamocortical Dysrhythmias. Dr. Lowe incorporates brain single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) neuroimaging, quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG), and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in his clinical practice. His prior research contributions have included work with Magnetoencephalography (MEG).

Dr. Lowe is a recipient of a Congressional Award for his research work at Bellevue Hospital Center and the NYU School of Medicine. He has previously served in the NYU School of Medicine’s Departments of Psychiatry and Neuroscience and Physiology. He was Consulting Neuropsychiatrist to the NYU School of Medicine Brain Research Laboratories and the NYU School of Medicine Center for Neuromagnetism. Dr. Lowe completed his medical degree at Tulane University.
